January 2024 Fishing Report

Inshore

Cool temps have hit the panhandle but the redfish and trout have been steady.  Redfish has been schooled up on the flats we have been throwing artificials lures to them when we have had sunny days with light winds.  We have also been following the birds if you can find the birds you can find the fish.  Big bull reds have been hitting baits under the birds in the middle part of the bay. The trout have moved up into the bayous and rivers.  Live shrimp on the bottom or a diving rapala have been getting the job done

Offshore

We caught a bunch of flounder on the inshore wrecks and reefs last week along with snapper and small grouper.  Still plenty of trigger fish around along with Mingo snapper on some of the deeper spots.  Our flounder were all caught on bull minnows and snapper/ grouper on cut squid.

Our spring break trips are starting to fill up so definitely book your trip asap!   We have a new 25ft Pathfinder for this season which is a huge upgrade to the other boat! Look forward to getting you out on the water!
